Yep. I broke my ankle.

So after a long journey of recovering from COVID-19 I was finally feeling better then BOOM - broken ankle!

I was having a lovely evening stroll with my boyfriend, admiring the beautiful neighbourhood when I tripped on the footpath and twisted my ankle. We both heard a loud crack and I was suddenly in agony. I couldn't put any weight on it what so ever and so we started deciding how to get me either home or to a hospital.

We were just about to sit me on the ground while Keith went to get the car when an angel in a Tesla drove by and offered us a lift to our car. She had driven by and didn't stop because of COVID-19 but could see we were in a pickle so she turned around and helped us. Thank you. I didn't get your name but thank you. You made a difficult, painful experience a little easier and I am so grateful.

We got into the car and drove to the house so Keith could pick up a jumper for me and some frozen peas to put on my foot in the car on the way to the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital Keith not and got me a wheelchair and we were temperature checked before we could enter the hospital. Thankfully Keith was allowed in with me because I couldn't walk and had to be pushed. We waited for hours as it was a Saturday evening on a bank holiday weekend, but eventually, I got seen, x-rayed and told that I chipped a bone in my ankle and needed this lovely boot for the next 6-8 weeks. Fun times.

I'm not going to lie, it's really affecting my mental health. I can't do anything for myself and I'm in constant pain and discomfort. I'm angry. I'm angry that I was finally feeling better and now I'm stuck to the couch again. I am trying to be positive, but it is hard. At least I am not working right now due to COVID so I can take it easy and heal. We're due to go back to work June 29th so I have no idea how that's going to work with the space-boot but I'm going to take a few days to be a potato and watch lots of movies and then I'm going to try to get back to do my digital marketing course and creating content.
