Cinnamon Rolls

Dense, gooey, sticky and vegan!

Ingredients:

(For the pastry)

  • 4 and 1/2 cups flour

  • 2 tbsp baking powder

  • 1tsp salt

  • 1 cup vegan butter

  • 1 and 1/4 cup oat milk

(For the filling)​

  • 1/2 cup melted butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp sweet ground cinnamon

Method:​

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 C.

  2. Using the rubbing in method, mix together the butter and flour and baking powder to create a breadcrumb like texture.

  3. Add the oat milk and salt to this and knead until you have a firm, stretchy dough. 

  4. Roll the dough out into a rectangle shape on a clean work top dusted with flour.

  5. Melt the butter for the filling and drizzle over the dough then mix the cinnamon into the sugar and sprinkle the mixture over the entire dough evenly. 

  6. Length ways, roll the dough carefully to form the cinnamon roll then cut into roughly 2 inch sectioned and place face up in a lined baking tin.

  7. Bake for roughly 40 mins but checking after 30 mins. 

Optional Frosting: ​

If you're feeling fancy, you can mix some icing sugar with some lemon juice and  dairy free butter for a deliciously tangy topping!
